Uses of Tresiba

Lower the levels of your blood sugar by consuming this long-acting insulin. Tresiba is a type of diabetes medicine that works for about 24 hours in providing medical therapy for diabetic people. It improves the blood sugar status of an individual. This medicine can still be used in treating both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Tresiba is available under the generic name Insulin Degludec.

Tresiba Precautions and Warnings 

Tresiba consumption is prohibited if you are proven to be allergic to this medicine or its ingredients. If you experience episodes of hypoglycemia, do not use it to avoid having low levels of blood sugar. For pregnant and breastfeeding women, this medicine could cause serious defects to the child. To avoid such an occurrence, speak with your doctor first.

Tresiba Dosage

For type 1 diabetes:

• The usual dose given is only 0.2 – 0.4 units/kg
• For the dosage maintenance, only the doctor will allow you to use more or less of the dosage given after the diagnosis.

For type 2 diabetes:

• 10 units to be given only on a daily basis
• For the dosage maintenance, only the doctor will allow you to use more or less of the dosage given after the diagnosis.
