Toviaz is a form of medicine used in treating overactive bladder or OAB. This condition refers to the inflammation and hyperactivity in the muscles of the bladder. Its symptoms include frequent urination, an urgency to urinate immediately, and urinary incontinence. Toviaz’s generic version is Fesoterodine. It works by relaxing the muscles located inside the body’s bladder. 

Toviaz Precautions and Warnings 

OAB is common to women, which means that men do not necessarily receive this medication. Before using this medicine, ensure that you tell your doctor if you have the following: 

  • Liver disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Stomach problems
  • Pregnant
  • Breastfeeding
  • Trouble with urination 

Avoid Toviaz’s prescription if you are allergic to the drug. 

Toviaz Dosage 

For the initial dose, you will be prescribed 4 mg of Toviaz to be consumed orally once per day. Once the treatment progresses, the dosage will increase to 8 mg. During your treatment, it is necessary that you always follow the prescription, such as consuming this medicine with water and not breaking it apart. You can also choose to consume it with or without food.
