Uses of Symbicort 

Controlling and preventing the symptoms of Asthma is made possible with the use of Symbicort. Its main ingredients are budesonide and formoterol. Budesonide works by reducing inflammation in the body. Meanwhile, Formoterol functions by relaxing the muscles located in the airways, which in return improves breathing activities. The same medicine is utilized in controlling symptoms of COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. 

The combination of budesonide and formoterol is also available under the brand names DuoResp Spiromax and BiResp Spiromax. 

Symbicort Precautions and Warnings 

To ensure safety, inform your doctor if you have a history of the following: 

• Heart disease
• Hypertension
• Seizures
• Weakened immune system
• Liver disease
• Glaucoma
• Osteoporosis
• Diabetes

If you have known hypersensitivity to Symbicort, note that it can be fatal. Make sure that you don’t make sure of this medicine if you are allergic to it. 

Symbicort Dosage 

• Two inhalations are enough for a daily dosage. The best time to perform it is during the mornings and evenings.
• After inhaling the medicine, make sure that you rinse your mouth with clean water to avoid mouth infection.
• Before using this inhaler, ensure that you prime it by releasing at least two sprays in the air.

Note: Frequent inhalation is not recommended. Doing so will only add to the side effects of using Symbicort.

• Shortness of breath
• Wheezing
• Eye pain
• Fever
• High blood sugar
• Nausea
• Vomiting
