Uses of Restasis
Restasis is an eye medication that treats inflammation in people with chronic dry eyes. It is available under the generic name Cyclosporine Ophthalmic.
Using this medicine will enable an increase in tears production. Besides Restasis, you can also purchase this ophthalmic under the brand name Cequa.
Restasis Precautions and Warnings
Avoid contaminating the Restasis dropper. Possible contamination can cause an eye infection. During application, make sure that you are not wearing your contact lenses. Reinsert your contact lenses 15 minutes after the eye drop application. Just like other medicines, if you are allergic to this solution, avoid using it. Also, there is no concrete evidence that Restasis can be harmful to pregnant women, so it is safe to use during pregnancy.
Restasis Dosage
- The dosage recommendation is 1 drop in each eye to be administered twice per day.
- Apply the eye drops approximately 12 hours apart.
In using it, you must tilt your head back and create a small pocket or pouch in your lower eyelid. Squeeze the bottle and let a small drop of liquid to your eyes. After application, close your eyes for about 2-3 minutes.
