Administer Pentasa in treating ulcerative colitis, categorized from mild to moderate frequency. Pentasa is sold under the generic name Mesalamine. 

This medicine is specifically made for adults associated with symptoms, such as inflammation, ulcers, and annoying sores during bowel movements. This condition triggers bleeding in the bowels, stomach pain, and even diarrhea. 

Mesalamine’s branded versions include Pentasa, Apriso, Asacol HD, Delzicol, and Lialda. 

Pentasa Precautions and Warnings 

If you experience the following, stop using this medicine: 

• Severe stomach pain
• Stomach cramping
• Bloody diarrhea

To ensure that you are safe to use Pentasa, speak with your physician if you have the following: 

• Kidney stone
• Kidney disease
• Liver disease
• Pyloric stenosis
• Eczema

Pentasa Dosage 

• Recommended dosage – 250 to 500 mg of Pentasa to be consumed orally on a daily basis.
• The duration of therapy is 8 weeks.
