Uses of Lantus 

Correlative to other medicines for diabetes, Lantus is also a form of hormone that lowers the levels of sugar stored in the blood and the body. Aside from this fact, the said medicine is long-acting, making it an effective medication for diabetes. It can be used not just for adults but for children as well. Lantus is available under the generic name Insulin Glargine. 

Lantus Precautions and Warnings 

Consuming Lantus can cause side effects and other reactions to the body. Before using it, speak with your medical provider first if you have the following: 

• Disease involving the kidney and liver
• Hypokalemia
• Hypersensitivity to Lantus and its ingredients. 

In case you are experiencing hypoglycemia, do not use this medicine as it can severely lower or decrease your blood sugar. 

Lantus Dosage 

Usual dosage given for diabetes type 1: 

• 100 units/mL of Lantus
• Consumption is daily
• For the dosage maintenance, it will depend on the blood sugar level with monitoring performed every day.

• 300 units/mL of Lantus
• Consumption is daily
• For the dosage maintenance, it will depend on the blood sugar level with monitoring performed every day.
