Uses of Glucagon

Glucagon Precautions and Warnings 

Similar to other diabetes medications, there are certain factors that you need to observe and follow during your Glucagon treatment. Also, to make sure that this medicine is safe for you to use, speak with your healthcare professional first if you have the following:

• Liver damage
• Kidney disease
• Pregnant or planning to get pregnant

Glucagon Dosage 

In treating hypoglycemia, the usual dosage given is 1 mg or 1 unit of the said medicine from the kit. However, for children who weigh less than 19 kgs, the amount of glucagon given is only half of the usual dosage (0.5 mg). In applying this medicine, there are certain ways to do it. You can do it intravenously, intramuscularly, or even subcutaneously.
