Uses of Edecrin 

Considered a water pill, this medicine prevents the human body from too much absorption of salt. Through this treatment, the salt is transmitted and goes out of the body as urine. Aside from that function, this medicine is also used in treating edema or fluid retention, which is usually present to individuals suffering from kidney disorder, liver disease, and congestive heart failure. Edecrin is marketed under the generic name Ethacrynic acid. 

Edecrin Precautions and Warnings 

Hypersensitivity to Edecrin and its ingredients can be fatal. So, if you are allergic to Edecrin, avoid it as much as possible. Furthermore, if you have urination problems or had recent severe diarrhea, avoid consuming this medicine as it can cause serious complications.  

Edecrin Dosage 

The daily dosage for this type of treatment can vary. However, the right dosage you will be consuming will depend on the assessment of the doctor. The dosages may include: 

• 50 mg of Edecrin to be consumed once a day – this is for day 1 treatment.
• 50 mg of Edecrin to be consumed twice a day – this is for day 2 treatment.
• 100 mg of Edecrin plus another dose in the afternoon – to be followed for day 3 treatment.
