Know More About Atrovent Inhaler

Patients who are having COPD often experience a blockage in the airways of their lungs. To enable them to breathe easily and comfortably, a certain inhaler is administered – Atrovent Inhaler. It is sold under the generic name Ipratropium Inhalation.

Uses of Atrovent Inhaler

This medicine works by expanding the airways for patients to breathe normally. It alleviates symptoms of COPD, such as shortness of breath and wheezing. It relaxes the lung muscles and prevents mucus secretions.

Atrovent Inhaler Precautions and Warnings

If you are allergic to Atrovent, it is best not to consider this treatment. It is not used for treating asthma attacks nor stopping breathing difficulties.

Prior to Atrovent prescription, your physician will examine and analyze your medical history to produce an accurate and rightful dosage. If you have active glaucoma, you will likely receive another form of medicine.

Atrovent Inhaler Dosage

Use this inhaler as directed by your physician. The recommended dosage is usually two puffs of the 200 dose Atrovent Inhaler, to be performed four times per day. The usage should also be 4 hours apart.

Atrovent HFA is a pressurized metered-dose aerosol unit for inhalation by mouth. After priming, each usage of the inhaler delivers 20mcg of ipratropium bromide.
